Its day 14; have you learned that you have a lifelong relationship with Christ. So what's your long-range plan? Is becoming like Christ your ultimate goal? If not don’t give up just yet, finish the whole day with Encounter 14, and reflect in your Journal the last two weeks after today's study.
TALK TO GOD: “Dear Jesus, more than anything else I want to become more like you. Thank you for being patient and helping me. Amen.”
INVESTIGATE GOD’S WORD: Read Colossians 3:10-11 (Memorize verse 10)
MAKE IT PRACTICAL:
I WONDER – Read Jeremiah 29:11-13
Are you scared to give your whole life to God because he will tell you to do something you don’t want to do? What happens if you hold back part of your life from God?
Imagine going to work and telling your boss you don’t want to work today; you’ll be there but not working. How do you think your boss and coworkers would react? Undoubtedly they would be a little put off by your attitude. After all, if you’re going to work you better work.
Unfortunately, many people have the same attitude about their relationship with God. They want it on their terms with all the benefits and no hassle. A relationship with God requires a full commitment like that in any good relationship. God wants your whole life so he can make something extraordinary out of it. His goal isn’t to make you miserable.
Just take a look at (Jeremiah 29:11-13) “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” So what does that mean? It means that God has good plans for your life. He knows you better than anyone else does, and knows what will fulfill you the most in life. If you choose any other direction, you’ll be settling for second best. Please Don’t!
KEEP IT REAL – Read Micah 4:6-13
Have you ever seen someone being treated badly because they are a Christian?
Many people reject us for a variety of things, were a bunch of hypocrites, preachy people that act like they know God but don’t, Judgmental, but mostly they think we are wired, and all we do for fun is pray on our knees for hours. They claim we lead a boring life because we don’t have sex until marriage, don’t drink alcohol, we pray to an invisible God they claim is not real, or the huge part is we claim were Christians but we have a bad past so were nothing but a bunch of hypocrites talking about God yet were sinners.
Even though they reject us and call us wired, they are not cool in God’s eyes. God knows our hearts, he knows the path we are trying to take. Don’t become discouraged by those who judge us or treat us bad due to being a Christian. Stand up for your beliefs!
